The agents of the Dark – the Night Watch – oversee nocturnal activity, while the agents of the Light keep watch over the day. This epic saga chronicles the eternal war of the “Others,” an ancient race of humans with supernatural powers who must swear allegiance to either the Dark or the Light. Set in contemporary Moscow, where shape shifters, vampires, and street-sorcerers linger in the shadows, Night Watch is the first book of the hyper-imaginative fantasy pentalogy from best-selling Russian author Sergei Lukyanenko. ![]()

However, the work transpired to have true value for her, becoming something she devoted significant energy to, as she found herself relating to her correspondents and sharing her stories with them. Tiny Beautiful Things begins with a preface by Strayed explaining that when she initially took on the unpaid post of advice columnist for The Rumpus in 2010, she thought it would be fun. So what makes a great Venom story? I have a rough criteria outlined of what should be included in the best Venom comics:Ģ) A lot of intense action and fighting sequences to keep things excitingģ) Significant guest stars (not one-off characters) to keep things fresh and mix things upĤ) The villain/antagonist has to be an equal match to our symbiotic anti-heroĥ) The stakes have to be high, both for the innocents as well as for Venom himselfĦ) Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, Venom has to develop as a character by the end of the arc Unfortunately, however, Venom's comics have not always been as great as I know they could be. Luckily for me, Venom got a slew of limited series devoted solely to his endeavors in the '90s, independent from Spider-Man's outings and away from the stigma of simply being another one of his nemeses. ![]() ![]() Venom is my favorite comic book villain of all-time, edging out legendary baddies like the Joker and Green Goblin by miles. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The first book contains 13 short stories, about the adventures of Raggedy Ann and her friends.
